Anybody else ever find themselves ctrl-s’ing for no reason?
This is a language map of Costa Rica remixed with a map of radio antennas. Originally, I was using 1 icon per radio station. It was chaotic (there are 305 radio stations in that tiny little country alone). I decided to cluster the data, and rounded the radio station location point to the 100th decimal point longitude and latitude. When I threw the new generalized data into QGIS today, I was struck by how pretty the pattern was. (So I took a snapshot to share.) But I felt that the data was not being represented fairly in that manner, so I used data-defined rules to size the icons, and loved the results. Going to tinker with it a bit more and share with my client :)
Robotics is the next big thing. Imagine how fun it’s going to be programming add-on features for robots with various mechanical abilities like programming an Android app. It’s enough to make my heart flutter. ^♥^
